Puzzling

This kid, who cannot go for two minutes without shouting for his mom or dad, who cannot even be in a room without an adult for more than the space of a few hastily-snatched breaths of child-free air, has sat for the last twenty minutes contentedly working on this puzzle while humming Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

I don’t know how it works. I’ve never understood the appeal of puzzles nor had the patience to attempt them. But I’m not going to argue with it.

In the time it took me to post this, he’s moved from Rudolph to “Believer” by the Imagine Dragons. (I guess it’s just Imagine Dragons but somehow The Imagine Dragons sounds fancier. What kind of dragon? An Imagine Dragon.)
